In order to maintain "IJEC Certified Supplier" status, an IJEC member must complete the following activities on an annual basis:

1. Engage an independent sampling service to obtain samples from two (2) different lots according to the Product Sampling Procedure. The independent sampling service fee is the responsibility of the IJEC member-company.

2. Samples will forwarded to an independent testing laboratory for analysis. The independent testing laboratory will conduct the specified analysis and compare the results to IJEC quality specifications. The independent testing laboratory will issue a sampling report of the results to the IJEC member company using the Certificate of Analysis Format and the Certificate of Analysis Form specified by IJEC. IJEC will be billed directly by the independent testing laboratory for testing fees. In turn, IJEC will bill the member company, as the member-company is responsible for these fees.

3. Summarize the data from the independent testing laboratory. Once the test result data is available, the IJEC member company will summarize the data from the independent testing laboratory's reports onto the IJEC application/recertification form, indicating that this data is for “recertification.” The IJEC member company will return the completed application/recertification form along with the independent testing laboratory’s Certificate of Analysis forms to the laboratory for review and approval.

4. The independent testing laboratory will review the submitted documents and make a decision based on the data provided. The independent testing laboratory has the option to request additional data from the applicant if they find it necessary.

5. Certification is granted. When two different lots of jojoba oil from an IJEC member company are found to meet IJEC specifications, the IJEC member company will be allowed to continue use of the IJEC quality seal on documents as desired and for so long as annual recertifications are obtained. The independent testing laboratory will notify IJEC and the IJEC member company of this decision.

6. If continuation of IJEC Certified Supplier status is denied, the independent testing laboratory will provide the IJEC member company with a report identifying the corrections the applicant must make before reapplying. If maintenance testing is not conducted within 12 months after the anniversary of the initial certification testing or the anniversary of recertification, as applicable, the IJEC member must cease use of the IJEC quality seal and repeat Steps 1-8 of the Certification Procedure.
